Santa Clarita Winter 2021 Watercolors Art on Rice Paper workshops
** workshops are online until further notice due to COVID-19**

Beginners and first-timers are welcome!
Relax and rejuvenate.
Enjoy the spontaneous nature of this
beautiful art form.
Express your creativity with watercolors
on rice-paper Chinese Brush techniques.
Create your own watercolor paintings and
enjoy an entirely different way of painting.
No sketching or drawing involved.
Let your energy flow into the brush to bring
your flowers and landscape paintings to life.
Have fun and make new friends with your
fellow brush artists in a safe
and supportive learning environment.
Let go of control and go with the flow.

Tuesdays: Plum Blossoms(Jan 5),
African Violets(Jan 12), Magnolias (Jan 19),
Narcissus (Jan 26), Dendrobiums (Feb 2).
In these beginner friendly workshops, you will
learn the fundamentals of Chinese Spontaneous
painting - how to create petals, beds and leaves
with emphasis on brush placement and
movement, how to color-load to get the best
blending and color intensities for
spectacular flowers.

Discover your inner artist with Karen's support,
choose your own colors, create your own
composition. You will complete 1 painting
in each workshop.

*new students will need to purchase
1 special flowers brush ($20)
and
special felt ($6) which are yours to keep.

Tuesday Feb 9 "Hummingbird"
This workshop will introduce the brush strokes
used in Chinese bird paintings. This is not a
workshop for newcomers, you will need to have
completed the flowers series first.
You will complete 1 painting in this workshop.

Tuesdays Feb 16 & 23
"Landscape - Pagoda & Plum Blossoms"
This 2 part workshop will introduce the use of
Chinese ink, watercolors, and brush strokes
used in Chinese spontaneous landscape paintings.
You will complete 1 painting in 2 workshops.

which are yours to keep

Tuesdays Mar 2 & 9 "Koi fish"
This 2 part workshop will introduce the use of Chinese ink, watercolors, and brush strokes
for painting Koi fish. You will complete 1 painting in 2 workshops.
