Santa Clarita Winter 2010 Watercolors on Rice-paper Workshops
Beginners are welcome! Enjoy the spontaneous nature of this beautiful art form. Express your
creativity with watercolors on rice-paper using Chinese Brush techniques. Create your own
paintings and experience an entirely different way of painting. No sketching or drawing involved.
Let your energy flow into the brush and bring your flowers and landscapes to life.

Beautiful Basics - Roses, Plum Blossoms
This is an introductory level workshop, covering
the fundamentals of Spontaneous style painting -
how to create petal shapes with emphasis on brush
placement and movement, how to color-load to get
the best blending and color intensities.
Choose your own colors, create your own composition. You will complete 2 paintings in 2
workshops.
Tuesday Feb 9, 16, 23 & Mar 2, 9 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Flowers - Freesias, Amaryllis, Winter Jasmine, Reticulated Irises and Butterflies
You will learn the concepts of color-loading, water control and brush strokes used to capture the
beauty of flowers and butterflies. Choose your own colors, create your own composition.
You will complete 5 paintings in 5 workshops.
Tuesday Apr 20 & May 4, 6:00 to 8:00 pm Landscape - Trees, Mist and Mountains
This workshop will introduce the use of chinese ink, watercolors and brush strokes used for
landscapes. You will complete 1
landscape painting over 2
workshops.
