Express your creativity with watercolors on rice-paper using Chinese Brush techniques. Create your own paintings and experience an entirely different way of painting. This workshop will go through the concepts of color-loading (watercolors), water control and the various brush strokes used to capture the beauty of flowers. Choose your own colors, design your own composition. You will learn how to 'paint' the essence of flowers and will complete 3 paintings over 3 workshops. Tuesday February 7, 2006 6:00 to 8:00 pm (1 workshop) Valentine's Day special workshop This is a special workshop for students to paint their own Valentine's Day card. The theme will be hearts and/or roses but you can paint anything you want - on a smaller scale than normal. Then choose from a selection of hand-made papers to mount your artwork and make into a card. Envelopes and insert sheets will be provided. Tuesday February 21 and 28, 2006 6:00 to 8:00 pm (2 workshops) Landscape - Mist and Mountains Learn about the different types of rice-paper and types of Chinese brushes used for landscapes. This workshop will introduce the colors of Chinese Ink, used of watercolors and how to create mystical misty landscapes You will complete 1 landscape painting over 2 workshops.
